FRIENDS OF JORDAN RUN & WALK SCHEDULE

Friday, October 9, 6:00pm: Packet Pick-Up

We met about half of our participants at packet pick-up! There, participants could get their bibs, raffle tickets, and shirts. We also had the help of the Janeway family. Packet pick-up was held at the LDS Stake Church at 3661 Brooke Street in Forest Grove.

Saturday, October 10, 9:00am: Day-Of Registration and Packet Pick-Up

Those who didn't make it out to packet pick-up were able to gather their Friends of Jordan Run & Walk supplies the morning of. We also had fourteen people register for the event on Saturday morning. Thank you for those new registrants and thank you to our amazing volunteers who kept that table under wraps! Between 9:00 and 9:45, participants also could look over the Be the Match and Forest Hills Lutheran Christian School booths. We even had three people sign up to be part of the bone marrow registry! If you are between the ages of 18 and 44 and would like to help save a life, you can sign up for the registry here. Be the Match supplied the marrow donor that saved Dalton's life; don't you want to save a life?

Saturday, October 10, 9:45am: Kids' Run

The kids' run was an adorable success. Approximately ten kids lined up at the start of the 100m race and ran their hearts out to the other end. Marshall and Dalton crossed together, showcasing the true Friends of Jordan spirit.

Saturday, October 10, 9:50am: Speech and Raffle Drawing

At this time, we drew the raffle winners (see below for more information) and heard from Marshall's mother, Brittany. Thank you for your kind words, Brittany, and congratulations to the raffle winners!

Saturday, October 10, 10:00am: 5K and 10K Start

The 5K and 10K will started at the same time. We had volunteers stationed along the course to guide them on their way. Everyone had a great time, and we're thankful that the rain held off for the majority of the event!

After the Event

Many participants hung around after the event to further peruse the booths, eat some snacks, and listen to the music. All in all, a fantastic day!

THE RAFFLE

Our raffle was a huge success! We had five winners for three items. Two winners each won two jars of homemade berry jam from Merv Munster. Two other winners each won a Nike basketball and Nike soccer ball. The final basket was a family fun basket courtesy of Janet Knoblach, who also took pictures this year! This basket included a foam soccer ball and football, a pretzel maker, a handmade fleece blanket, and three water bottles. Thank you to those who donated raffle items and thank you to Marshall, Dalton, and Paulina, who helped us draw the winners.
